West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach has a colorful past and an exciting future ahead of it. This city is a story of a metropolis rising from wilderness to becoming an important region in Palm Beach County. However, as Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither was West Palm Beach. Its beginnings go decades back when Henry Flagler was looking for a route to expand his railway network and he ended up discovering the city that we now know as West Palm Beach. Since then, the area never stopped advancing and went through dramatic overhaul over the years. Today, you can see neatly lined Palm tree avenues, sandy beaches, sun-kissed tropical climate, stunning waterfront views, expansive neighborhoods, shopping districts and the makings of an ultra modern city with old world charm!

However, nature has not always been kind with West Palm Beach. There have been times when life came to a standstill or brought days of upheaval at its shores. But be it as it may, the city always found a way to get back on its feet!

The highs, the lows and the worst

The growth of West Palm Beach began as a result of land boom in the 1920s. Who would have thought back then that the well-settled community will end up paying a heavy price for disturbing the ecosystem years later? The first strike of nature’s wrath in 1928, Hurricane Okeechobee, shook the city and left it devastated. From economy to homes, everything was destroyed. Just when people learnt about their vulnerability, another hurricane struck in 1949. Then another one in 1979, Hurricane David, not only brought strong winds of destruction, but also a realization that being prepared alone will not make the cut. Then in 2004 and 2005, hurricanes Jeanne, Frances and Wilma made it clear that the city needed a rock solid plan.

Despite all its nerve-wracking episodes with nature, West Palm Beach always bounced back and you know how? It had companies like West Palm Beach Restoration Expert helping people day in and day out to restore their lives and business back to normal.
